2019 Calendar of Events

PLEASE NOTE some events are weather depending, and ALL events are subject to change.

There will be a small fee associated with some events to cover the cost.    These will be noted with an *.

All crafts are $1 each child unless otherwise noted.

April – It’s Finally Here, Opening Weekend!

20th:  

Join us for Muffins and Coffee in the lodge.  Colored Bingo for the kids, Easter Egg Hunt, Adult Easter Egg Hunt

27th:  

Get to know YOU potluck.  Bring your favorite dish to share with old and new friends.

May – Spring Has Sprung

5th: It’s Cinco de Mayo

Mexican themed crafts for the kids in the pavilion8  Bring your favorite Mexican dish (or non-Mexican) and your favorite addition for the virgin Margaritas we will be serving.  Fun music, good times and of course a pinata for all.

12th:  Mothers Day Weekend

Kids, come join us and make something special for mom*

Mothers Day Breakfast* – Moms don’t worry about cooking today, we are serving up Waffles, Fruit and Mimosas (virgin) – Free to all moms.  And Moms take a break on Sunday, its late checkout.

18th: Clean Up Weekend

We know you have worked hard to get your sites cleaned and your campers squeaky clean, so meet us for dinner in the pavilion.  All you need is plates and silverware, we will handle the rest.

Schuylkill Country Brew Fest

24th – 27th Memorial Weekend

Late check-out for all veterans, we thank you for your service.

Saturday:  Pool Open (weather permitting)

Kids join us for Colored Bingo, and games throughout the day

Join us at the pavilion for the Critter connection, presentation starting at 11:00 am

Horseshoe Torment

National Wine Day – Wine and Cheese Tasting – Bring your favorite glass and bottle of wine to share with the group.  We will supply the cheese and crackers. (adults only)

Sunday:

Kids join us for Colored Bingo, and stay for crafts*

Help us support Hillside ASPCA by attending our Coffee Can Raffle / Tricky Tray  – all prizes will be available to view prior to ticket sales.*

Conrhole Tournament, come on folks you know you want to!

Bingo* followed by Music / Snacks at pool, which will be open for a late night family swim

June – Looking Forward To The Summer

Hegins Valley Fire Rescue Fireman’s Carnival Date TBD

1st: 

Pot Luck Dinner – Italian Themed, Bring your favorite Italian dish to share

8th: 

Fish rodeo.  Kids join us at the pond for a fun afternoon of fishing.  This is a catch and release, so no fish dinners.  Prizes will be given.

15th:  Fathers Day Weekend

Crafts for the kids – Make something special for Dad*

Breakfast, Pancakes and Sausage, Free for all Dads*.  And Dads enjoy some extra time with the kids Sunday, It’s a late check-out for you!

22nd:  

Crafts in the pavilion*

Adult Swim Night.  Pool will be open late for adults only.

Kids, its movie time, come join us for a movie under the stars.

29th:  

Kids join us for a day made just for you.  Crafts*, candy bingo, a scavenger hunt and then we end the night with Smores by the fire.

July – Let’s Celebrate The 4th

2019 Schuylkill Country Fair being held July 29th through August 3rd

6th:  

Crafts for the kids*.  Kids Bike parade decorate with your best Red White and Blue (prizes given)

DJ Matt at the pool, Bring a snack to share and dance the night away

Local Fireworks schedule will be available NO FIREWORKS PERMITTED IN THE CAMPGROUND

13th:  Yuengling 190th Anniversary Summer Concert Celebration

Reverse Pot Luck, we know you have had a long day at the Yuengling Celebration, so let us make you dinner, you only need to bring dessert.

Start decorating for Xmas in July (prizes will be given)

20th:  

Christmas crafts for kids*

Xmas in July, Decorate your site, join us for White elephant gift exchange (one for adults and one for children) and a Xmas pot luck dinner to end the day.

27th:  

Join us for an afternoon of fun in the sun.  Adults and children welcome for music, and pool games.

August

Hegins Valley Arts and Crafts Faire (date TBA) & Gratz Fair (date TBD)

3rd:  

Anything better than fresh blueberries?  They are ripe and in season, so join us for a Blueberry Pancake Breakfast (regular pancakes will also be available)*

10th:  

PA Painting With A Twist from Lancaster will be here!  A little bit of PAINT, a little bit of WINE, a whole lot of FUN is their motto.  Come join us for a fun afternoon of painting.  Pre-registration is needed, adults and children welcome.

17th:  

Crafts in the pavilion*

Wing Fest – Bring your napkins, for this messy fun night of wing sampling*.

24th:  

Crafts in the pavilion*

Who doesn’t like a good weenie roast?  We supply the dogs and the fire, you come with the side and toppings.

September

August 31st – September 2nd: Labor Day Weekend – Schuylkill County Wine Festivals

Saturday: 

Kids crafts in the pavilion*.  Followed by games throughout the day

Late night Family swim – Let’s finish the summer with some time in the pool

Yard Sale – We will supply the tables and advertisement, you come with your stuff!

8th: 

Grandparents Day – All grandparents will have visitor fees waived

14th:  

Dog days of Summer, Come camp with your pets, the pool will be open for the dogs, pet vendors and adoption day.

21st:

Thanksgiving Crafts in pavilion*

Celebrate the season with your camping “family” with a Thanksgiving Dinner Pot Luck dinner.  We supply the Turkey, you bring the sides and desserts.

28th:  

Chili Cookoff / Pot Luck Bring your best chili for a chili cookoff – this will be a blind taste test, and prizes will be awarded.  Not a fan of chili, join us with your favorite dish to share

5th:  

Fall Crafts for the kids*

Soup Night – Nothing better than a nice hot bowl of soup on a chilly night.  Bring your favorite soup to share

Pumpkin carving, and trick or treating for the kids

Adults and children dress in your spookiest attire and meet for a spooky night of fun with snacks and music
