2021 Calendar of Events

PLEASE NOTE some events are weather depending, and ALL events are subject to change.
There will be a small fee associated with some events to cover the cost.    These will be noted with an *.
All crafts are $1 each child unless otherwise noted.


10th It’s finally here, Opening day. If this is your first time with us, welcome, if you’re a returning camper welcome back- Either way, stop in the office and say hello, tell us about your winter while you enjoy Coffee and Muffins
17th Not in the mood to cook? Enjoy a hot hearty meal of Spaghetti & Meatballs with garlic bread. All welcome $5 each person
Kids let’s paint some rocks to spread some cheer through the campground- Meet in the pool pavilion.
24th Hillbilly Hooch will be here with their tasty moonshine for you to sample, and purchase after the tasting. We will also have mixers for you to make your own moonshine creation, and hotdogs to help fill your belly! $5pp Must be over 21 to attend.


1st Join us with your favorite Mexican (or not) potluck dish to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Let’s have a great time with virgin margaritas, A piñata for the kids, and bring your cameras as we will have some fun props and a backdrop for photos.
8th Don’t make mom cook, bring her to breakfast! Mother’s Day breakfast will include Waffles and fruit, mimosas, OJ, coffee, and tea. Moms eat free, all others $5 charge.

15th Meet at the lodge and get ready to sing and dance the night away, we will be welcoming back DJ Party Tyme. Bring your chairs, snacks, and drinks, leave your inhibitions at the camper, as we will not only have music but karaoke!
22nd Benigna’s Creek will be at the campground for you to sample their amazing wines. We will be offering light snacks to accompany the tasting – Bottles will be sold after the tasting.
29th The pool will be opening for all of you brave souls (weather permitting)- Take a chance on the amazing basket raffle to support the local SPCA and Hegins Fire Dept. We will be holding our famous Corn Hole tournament on the volleyball court for adults. Kids and adults alike meet us at the lodge, as we are excited to offer “Ways of Wildlife” led by “Porcupine Pat” McKinney of the Schuylkill Conservation District. After a hands-on show and tell of local wildlife, such as a turtle shell and deer hide, participants will use Nature Snoopers to explore the grounds of Camp A While.
Join us on Saturday night for live music by CURIOUS DOG!!
30th Cornhole, not your thing? Join us for an amazing game of horseshoes. Games and crafts for the kids will carry out throughout the day. Drawing for basket Raffle, and then a rousing game of Bingo will follow.


5th Craft Beer tasting- Grab your favorite Craft Beer and meet us in the pavilion. Join up with old friends and meet some new while tasting some new, craft or just your favorite beer! Light snacks will be provided. Must be 21 to attend.
12th Country Western night! Giddy on up to the lodge and join us for some hoot holorin’ good times. Bring your favorite snacks, put on your hat and boots and get ready to boot scoot the night away.
19th Its Dads Day! Father’s Day Breakfast will be held in the pavilion. Pancakes and sausage will be served free for all dads, $5 for everyone else. Bring dad back later in the night for a rousing game of Bingo

26th Jack-Azz Distilling, LLC. Will be joining us with their fabulous shine. $5 pp Tasting and lunch will be provided, Jack-Azz will also be making mixed drinks for a separate fee. Shine will be sold after the tasting. Must be 21 to attend.


3rd What is a holiday at Camp a While without a Cornhole Tournament! Meet at the volleyball court for this yearly tradition. Never played before. No worries join in anyway.

After a busy day meet us at the Lodge when the sun goes down, we are having a party to celebrate the USA! Bring your chairs, snacks, and drinks we will have music all night from DJ Dan!
4th Let’s have a parade! Decorate your golf cart or bicycle in your best Red White and Blue for a campground parade!
10th Who doesn’t love a good weenie roast? We provide the sticks and the weenies; you join us with a side dish. Come sit and relax or dance the night away, as we will have the jukebox playing. The pool will be open for a late-night swim.
17th A day in the water- Let’s start by taking a “Sneak A Peek at the Creek.” Get wet and wild as we look for water pennies, mayflies, salamanders, and more in the creek on the campground. We will use a “biotic index” to determine the quality of the waterway. Please wear water shoes or sneakers that you don’t mind getting wet. A great natural way to cool off during a hot summer day and learn about water—a valuable natural resource. Led by naturalist “Porcupine Pat” of the Schuylkill Conservation District.

24th Christmas in July- Decorate your site, for all to enjoy
Join your camping family for this fun-filled holiday dinner. We provide the turkey; you bring a side to share. End the night with a Cookie exchange, hot cocoa and coffee will be provided.
Christmas Crafts for the kids
31st Christmas in July- If you have never participated in the White Elephant with us, you are missing out on a fun time. We have 2 versions, one for the kids and one for adults. Let’s add to this holiday fun by wearing your best Ugly sweater/t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded for the best ugliest shirt.


7th Mardi Gras time! Kids let’s make mardi gras masks for you to use in the Mardi Gras Parade! That’s right let’s decorate golf carts and bikes for a parade for the times through the campground. Keep the party going with a potluck with your favorite Cajun/creole favorite dish in the pavilion. Beads and king cake for everyone!

14th Potluck Brunch – Bring your favorite Breakfast/Brunch item to share. Let’s start our morning off the right way! We will supply coffee and OJ
21st Brushstrokes will be here for you to show your artistic side.
28th Movie Night at the pool- Meet us when the sun goes down, for a family movie night in the pool.


4th Labor Day weekend- Details to come soon!!

11th Italian Night- Let’s get together for dinner! Bring your favorite Italian dish to share with fellow campers.

25th Girls grab your boys, we are headed to a Doo OP! Get those poodle skirts on, grab the leather jackets, you are in for a 50s kind of night! Dancing and great music at the lodge!

October – Let’s Start To Decorate Your Site For Halloween

2nd Chili Cook-Off and potluck dinner. Let’s see if the current reigning champ can be dethroned! Bring your favorite Chili for a blind taste test, Prizes will be given! Don’t like Chili, don’t worry bring your favorite dish to share.
9th Pumpkin Pancakes! It’s that time of the year, Pumpkin pumpkin pumpkin! We will be making pumpkin pancakes in the pavilion and for you rebels, we will also have regular pancakes!
16th Soup Night, One of my favorites! Make a pot of your favorite soup to share. We will provide all the necessary grilled cheese to accompany your amazing soups!
23rd Halloween weekend- Meet in the pavilion for pumpkin carving! Then get your costumes on as it’s time to Trick or Treat through the campground, it’s a walk but I promise it’s worth it! Then let’s all stay in costume and meet in the lodge for a spooky night in!
30th Enjoy the fall foliage, your campfire, and great friends… Very sad weekend for all of us here at Camp A While as everyone packs up for the winter.
